Timeline and Process

The inquiry will consist of two phases:

 Phase 1:

 A desk review of relevant reports and documents available in the public domain and statements of asylum seekers who were accommodated in hotels at the time of the Park Inn incident. 
The inquiry will publish an interim report outlining a summary analysis of the existing reports and documents and including emerging themes and questions that the inquiry will aim to investigate.

 Phase 2:

The Inquiry will be formally launched in June 2022 and the second phase will report in November 2022. Panel members will be appointed and the inquiry Terms of Reference will be finalised. A call for written evidence will be open following the launch of the Inquiry.
The Inquiry will run at least two confidential listening sessions with people who were directly impacted and two oral evidence sessions with authorities, statutory agencies, and service providers.
The secretariat and Panel will analyse evidence and prepare the final report and recommendations.
